Melbourne is known for its amazing contemporary and street art. The National Gallery of Victoria exhibits a large collection including artwork by Drysdale, Rodin, and Constable. The premier gallery on St Kilda Road is complete with a lofty stained-glass atrium, which in itself, is already a sight to behold. If you want to see Aboriginal artwork, then head on to the Ian Potter Centre in Federation Square. Visit the State Library of Victoria for a good read

If you are up for a great read, then you should definitely visit the State Library of Victoria. It was built back in 1854 and houses more than two million books. The octagonal La Trobe Reading Room is the largest dome in the world. The natural lighting helps with making the ornate plasterwork visible. Go and get a map for a guided tour of the reading room, or join free classes, workshops, and talks to enhance your knowledge about books and arts.
